Generic, unpersonalized support services can struggle to adopt users. This problem of adoption can be avoided with a few simple yet effective customizations that transform a support service such as Jira Service Desk into your own.
One such customization is using a custom domain. It is now possible to send Jira Service Desk Cloud users or customers to your own custom domain using RefinedSites for Jira Service Desk Cloud. Last week, RefinedSites introduced custom domains for customized support sites built on Jira Service Desk.
Custom domains explained
A custom domain is your own domain to direct visitors seeking support. Each Jira Service Desk Cloud help center home and subsequent customer portals can be customized using the theme editor and layout editor with links to helpful content modules. We have taken customization to the next level to include custom domains. By default in RefinedSites the domain is yoursubdomain.refined.site. With this new feature, you can use your own domain to match your team or organization. E.g., Example team can direct users to the site support.example.com to get support.
How do custom domains work?
From the Jira Cloud admin section you can open up RefinedSites Configuration. From here you can follow the instructions to create your custom domain.
