Sapio Sciences is a global SaaS company transforming how scientific organizations operate. Its unified, AI-native lab informatics platform streamlines complex workflows and enables faster, smarter decisions across biopharma R&D, clinical diagnostics, and manufacturing in the U.S., Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. As its partner ecosystem grew, Sapio Sciences needed a way to streamline collaboration and resource-sharing across a global partner base.

The solution would need to be simple to launch, easy to maintain, and powerful enough to support their different partners types with personalized, relevant content. We spoke with Andrew Wyatt, chief growth officer at Sapio Sciences, about the challenges they faced and how Refined Sites helped solve them.

The challenge: simple setup and sophisticated delivery

Sapio Sciences needed more than just a site for partner communications. It needed a tool that would require minimal set-up and upkeep, while also providing their partners with an efficient and easy-to-use portal. When Sapio began exploring options for a partner portal, they found many options, but most of them didn’t meet key requirements:

  • Fast, no-code setup without the need for developer resources.
  • Secure, audience-specific access, ensuring partners only see relevant content.
  • Unified support and documentation, centralizing help content and ticketing in one, easy-to-access place.
  • Low-maintenance content management, with minimal effort to keep the site current.

The partner portal addresses two distinct partner types: sellers and deployment specialists. Each group requires tailored resources, and managing separate sites or duplicating content for both audiences was not a sustainable long-term solution.

The Solution: one site, two experiences

Sapio Sciences selected Refined Sites for Confluence to build a single, centralized portal that met all of its needs, without custom development or ongoing IT involvement.

With Refined, Sapio Sciences was able to:

  • Integrate Confluence and Jira Service Management content and request types into a unified, branded site.
  • Apply granular permissions to show each partner audience only the tools, documents, and forms they need.
  • Make edits in Confluence that are automatically published and displayed on Refined Sites. That means they could update their site easily, with no need for duplicate work or a complex publishing workflow.
  • Embed JSM request types and forms directly into pages, making it easy for partners to submit support tickets and log leads and opportunities.  

Building a dynamic and navigable experience

Refined’s page builder modules played a big role in making the site feel useful and alive:

  • A “Latest Documents” content box ensures fresh updates are always front and center.
  • News article tagging helps highlight time-sensitive information or product changes.
  • The Events module promotes upcoming events directly on the homepage.

These modules, combined with a clean design and intuitive navigation, give Sapio Sciences a partner portal that looks professional, functions seamlessly, and encourages repeat visits.

The Sapio partner portal has been live for less than a year and draws around 300
page views per month. Even in that short time, Sapio Sciences is already seeing clear benefits:
